An opportunity exists for a young Bachelor of Business Science: Finance & Accounting Honours, graduate as an understudy to the Group CFO of a major investment company. The position entails liaising with external stakeholders such as shareholders, debt providers, bankers, legal advisors and auditors. The role would also encompass being present and participating in confidential discussions and undertaking analyses in respect of acquisitions, mergers, etc. Although the position offers high level input, there are duties such as preparation of board packs, drafting memoranda, reviewing lease agreements and assisting the CFO with various personal duties such as diary maintenance, screening calls, booking travel, etc.
The successful candidate must be confidential and ethical. Other traits such as analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking. Organising and planning are essential and must be a team player, self-motivated and adaptable as well as a very fast learner.
Due to the level of communication, a highly professional, well-groomed, excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels applicants will be considered. A good attitude with a hunger for a varied and stimulating environment and the ability to prioritise, multitask and work well under extreme pressure is of the essence. Above all else excellent organisation skills is a must.
